We wanted to share with you the information found on the labels of Borusan Boru brand products, for which we are a distributor.

These labels, which are often overlooked and fall on the floor in warehouses, actually contain very detailed information.

Let’s try to explain using an example. Let’s try to explain using an example of a label for the natural gas pipe below.

The information on the pipe label, in order:

  • Brand: Borusan Boru
  • QR Code: By scanning this code with the Boru Hattı mobile app, you can access the Material Test Certificate (MTC) of the specific pipe.
  • Product Code – Item Number: Indicates the product category, dimensions, and material grade of the pipe.
  • Pipe Length Range: Specified in millimeters (mm). If the pipes in the bundle have varying lengths, the minimum and maximum values are shown.
  • Pipe Short Name: A shortened description showing the pipe type and material grade. In this example, it specifies a natural gas pipe made of Grade B material.
  • Pipe Outer Diameter and Wall Thickness: Expressed in millimeters (mm).
  • Pipe Coating and End Type:
    For example, PEPE stands for PE: Polyethylene coated and PE: Plain End, meaning the pipe is polyethylene-coated and has plain ends.
  • Raw Material Used in Production:
    For instance, HR means Hot Rolled, referring to the use of hot-rolled steel coils.
  • Pipe Manufacturing Standard: Indicates the applicable production standard (e.g., API 5L, EN 10255, etc.).
  • Material Grade According to Standard: Defines the steel grade based on the relevant production standard.
  • Heat Number: A unique number assigned to the raw material during steel casting. It ensures traceability of the material used in production.
  • Pipe Length: Displayed in millimeters (mm).
  • Number of Pipes in the Bundle: Indicates how many pipes are contained in one package.
  • ISO 9001 Compliance: Shows that production is conducted under ISO 9001 Quality Management standards.
  • Production Date and Time: The exact date and time the pipe was manufactured.
  • Pipe Barcode and Number: Each pipe has a unique barcode for traceability and quality tracking.
  • Production Location: Indicates the specific Borusan Boru facility where the pipe was produced.
